Introducing Dogwood Daughter

At the age of four I started learning how to play the piano by ear and then I started taking lessons and really got into it. When I was 11, I went to a craft festival and fell in love with the modal sound of the Mountain Dulcimer, this opened the door to singing.

I loved Appalachian and British Folk Songs and ballads so I started collecting and singing them.

I loved music but not the recognition so following a conversation I overheard between my husband and his cousin about how I should be a composer that's what I've been doing since and I've also worked on solo piano pieces and other instrumental compositions.

Between 2008 and 2010 I recorded under the stage name of MarMelodian and in 2011 I started recording as Dogwood Daughter as I thought it'd be easier to spell.

Cat and Mouse is Dogwood Daughter's most recent song and it's a beautiful and uplifting piano melody.
